First. Why I am I so low in energy?
Plant-based phytonutrients build up digestive wellness and reduce inflammation in the body. Inflammation is the culprit that makes your joints hurt, gives you brain fog, and clogs your colon. When your body is constantly trying to revive itself and put out the fires of stress and a poor diet it doesn’t have the energy to perform at optimal levels. This makes you tired and sluggish.
How do I stay healthy on the go?
A great way to stay energized and focused throughout the day is to get more PH balancing greens in your diet. We all know this but sometimes it’s hard to make it happen. So many salads - so much chewing! There is another simple way to boost energy and offer a fast and easy way to get the nutrition you need.
So what's the answer?
A daily green juice or smoothie replenishes essential vitamins and minerals. It’s just what your body craves to operate at peak levels. Make sure that it is low in sugar and high in vegetable content. There are many grab and go options out there, but don’t trust labels, read the ingredients. My favorite affordable and high quality option is Columbia Gorge cold pressed organic green juice. Look for natural and low-sugar ingredients but, if you can, the best option is to make them at home.
Try my power protein smoothie!
I have recently developed a new and easy 3-day juice cleanse that is jammed packed full of local and organic power foods. It is very low in sugar and had the perfect balance of protein and nut-based healthy fats. My clients swear by my gluten and dairy free smoothies to power them up and help them skate through their day.
Meal planning tip: Make a big batch and portion it out in smaller mason jars - it will last you up to 4 days and is perfect for breakfast, post-workout or an afternoon boost.
